January 2021 Business Law Newsletter

I hope this email finds you and your family in good health.  As said before, that is not something any of us can take for granted as we cope with the health and economic effects and huge disruptions to our daily lives arising from the long continuing COVID-19 / coronavirus pandemic crisis, as the national death toll climbs toward 400,000 and every day we hear of new spikes in this awful winter second wave.  Later this month, hopefully without too many more problems, a new administration will take office in Washington and we can all hope the Biden administration will speed the spread of vaccinations so that a return closer to normalcy might come later in 2021 – so we can hope!  In any case, it is my hope you and your family had nice holidays and a nice New Years in spite of it all and that you are staying safe and that economically you are surviving to fight another day. I’m writing you today to stay in touch and also update you.  This update includes a link to register for the ENET webinar with online networking tomorrow night with links to slides from a similar meeting I moderated earlier. This update also includes links to two articles published in the last two months, one by the largest newspaper in Las Vegas and the other the Boston Globe, where I was quoted in each article, with links to other articles I wrote on those same subjects, plus separately, a link to an earlier published article I wrote on retention agreements for CEOs and C-level executives, and finally a special offer that you may find valuable. I hope these items might be of some benefit.  In any case… be well…stay safe…

2.      Mutual Benefit of RSUs in lieu of Cash Bonuses

An article published two weeks ago, in the Las Vegas Review-Journal quoted me on the utility of corporate CEOs taking restricted stock units (RSUs) in lieu of cash bonuses.  The reporter interviewed me after reading my earlier published article that describes how RSUs offer important advantages to CEOs and senior executives over stock and options, and key terms to negotiate in RSU grant agreements. In this new article, the reporter quoted me on key benefits use of RSUs can offer a companies, as well, during the pandemic  More Details Here

Have you gained weight during the coronavirus pandemic?  An article published six weeks ago in the Boston Globe poses that question and uses my experience to show quarantining does not have to lead to poor eating habits — and is even a chance to make positive changes. For this article, the Boston Globe reporter interviewed me, weight loss professionals and others. She also provided a link to my earlier self-published article “Rob’s “Eat What You Love” Weight Loss Program”  which shares the techniques I developed out of necessity, through which I lost 76 pounds in 8 months, and have kept the weight off ever since.
