September 2022 Business Law Newsletter

I hope this email finds you and your family in good health.  I hope you and your family got in lots of recreation, travel and vacation R &R over the summer months and if you are still on vacation – enjoy!   But if you, like most of us, are now back to work, school and the beginning of a new year that the autumn season marks, welcome back and I hope you can return to some semblance of office normal like we used to enjoy pre-pandemic. In sports, our Red Sox seemed to have taken the summer off, yet hopefully they will mount a last-ditch effort to avoid their second last place finish in the three years.  Hopefully, we might see better from the Patriots and later from Boston’s winter teams, but time will tell. Of course, I expect little sympathy from others who follow professional sports teams in other cities around the country, after the amazing twenty-year run, 2000 – 2020, of New England sports teams led by the Pats (6 titles) and Red Sox (4 titles). That lack of sympathy, nationally, was recently made manifest me from the diehard sports fans of Chicago:  I took lots of razz from my Northwestern Law School classmates at our recent class reunion in Chicago and even more so at the Cubs game I attended last Thursday afternoon at Wrigley Field (the “Friendly Confines”).  Meanwhile, September also opens to the calendar for Boston Entrepreneurs’ Network (ENET), the non-profit group where I have been active for more than a quarter century including a decade as Chair (2009-2019).  After a 2-year Covid hiatus, ENET is once again holding live meetings, two per month, one suburban (Burlington) and one urban (Cambridge), both including a zoon option for those who prefer remote.  This update includes a link to register for ENET’s 2nd meeting to occur one week from tonight with a link to slides for a presentation I gave on a similar subject.  This update also includes links to my article on important stock rights to negotiate in your executive equity compensation package bonuses published by CEOWorld magazine 12 days ago, plus links to two other articles of mine on executive topics published in the last two years, one at the IvyExec career advancement website, and the other also by CEOWorld, magazine, and finally a special offer that you may find valuable. I hope these items might be of some benefit. 😊
