Build a Team of All Stars

On Thursday February 10th at 7pm  (Rescheduled from February 1 due to weather cancellation), the Boston Entrepreneurs’ Network (ENET) will present a panel of three speakers on “Building a Team of All Stars” at our usual monthly location, the Foley Hoag Emerging Enterprise Center, 1000 Winter Street, Waltham, MA.  This panel is organized to help you discover what you can do to attract and retain talent in a job market that remains competitive for A players. Come sit with team building experts and listen to their insights on how to build awesome teams no matter what your current stage of business development. Bring your questions and toughest challenges to this panel to advance your entrepreneurship skill set.  The panel includes Jerry Socol, former CEO of Filene’s and four other retail-related businesses including retail startup Brandstamp, biotech entrepreneur Eli de los Pinos, Punit Shah, a technology entrepreneur who has started three startups to date, with the moderator Andrew Paradise, CEO and Founder of AisleBuyer LLC, a startup company focused on providing mobile self-checkout solutions for retailers that recently received funding.

Hopefully, this meeting (when held!) will be helpful to entrepreneurs in small and early stage companies I represent.

Additionally, in recent years, I have moderated and spoken at two ENET panels which have taken up the issue of recruiting and retaining superior management teams.

I remain active ENET, a Waltham-based group that aids entrepreneurs, small and early stage companies, and people who invest or work in those companies.

I have been on the ENET Board for the last eight years, and now serve as Chairman. On September 7, 2010, I began my second year as ENET chairman, moderating ENET’s kickoff event for 2010-2011 ENET’s 20th year, a panel discussion on Launching a Successful Business.  The meeting dealt with what it takes to launch your idea into a successful company from those who have done it.  Our three speakers, whom I recruited each offered their experiences starting companies and investing in companies (one speaker was an angel, another, a VC).
