Board Building

Board Building:  Assessing the Value Advisors Bring.

My article in the June 9, 2006 issue of Boston Business Journal, in BBJ’s yearly “Family Business” focus section. This BBJ article discusses the role that a board of advisors can play in aiding a family business with succession planning and dispute resolution and in looking beyond the family network for needed resources and expertise.  My article equally addresses the role of boards for early stage business to leverage growth.  I then offer suggestions on forming and managing an effective board, issues of compensation and liability, and finally, the merits and attributes of boards of advisors and directors.
